Hormone Therapy

Understanding Low Testosterone (Low T):

Low testosterone can significantly impact various aspects of a man's or woman's life, including energy levels, mental clarity, libido and physical performance.

Often mistaken as mere signs of "getting older," these symptoms are treatable and SHOULD NOT be overlooked. Unfortunately more times than not, general practioners/primary care providers are not well-versed in treating people who struggling with low t issues and often tell them that their levels are "normal for their age," that they "do not need treatment," or "testosterone will cause them to have heart attacks/strokes."

Medical research has shown this not to be the case and that testosterone therapy DOES NOT cause in increase in cardiovascular health risks.

        FAQ's

Once you begin testosterone replacement therapy, will you have to continue taking it for the rest of your life?

Most men choose to remain on their testosterone therapy program indefinitely due to the positive physical and mental benefits that it provides them .In those that do stop their treatment for whatever their reasons, their levels will then decrease from the optimal levels that the therapy brings them down to their natural level to around where they were before starting treatment. At that point, it can bring back any symptoms that one was experiencing before the testosterone treatment. Our program is also designed to allow your body to maintain it’s own production of testosterone via the use of HCG. This helps your testes with the process of resuming its own normal production levels of the hormone should you ever choose to discontinue your therapy.

Is testosterone safe for your heart?

Results from the TRAVERSE trial were submitted in 2023, concluding that there was no increase in the risk of adverse cardiovascular outcomes in men using testosterone for hypogonadism.

Will I only be taking testosterone?

With treatment from Top Notch Testosterone, our objective is to have our patients achieve hormonal optimization with the LEAST amount of medication taken or needed. We have different treatment options depending on your personal needs or preferences.

        You will receive:

        Testosterone cypionate (grapeseed oil)

        - IF you are concerned with testicular atrophy (shrinking of your testicles) and/or fertility, we have optional medication that will help keep your testes functioning while on your therapy and will assist in achieving your natural production levels once treatment ends.

As you may know there is an incredible amount of debate on the topic of aromatase inhibitors and if you should inhibit the conversions of testosterone to estradiol. With us, you will not have to take anastrozole as the studies show that there is more harm in blocking estradiol (estrogen) and numerous benefits providing protection against cardiovascular disease and other issues like decreased libido and erectile issues.

If you are a firm believer that people should be taking an aromatase inhibitor while on testosterone therapy, that is completely ok and are free to choose your provider accordingly.

We believe in trying to reach hormonal optimization with the least amount of medicine possible. We believe in following what the research literature states and know that there will be people who disagree. If you are one of those people, then Top Notch Testosterone may not be the provider for you, and that it completely ok. We may be able to help guide you in the direction to help you find a provider that fits what you may want.

Do you offer financing on the paid in full promotions?

YES! We offer financing through Affirm or Klarna via Apple or Google Pay, based on approval.

Other than the recurring cost, are there any other costs I will have to pay?

The ONLY other cost will be your ONE-TIME ONLY, initial set-up cost.

        This will cover:

        - Submission of your blood work order to Labcorp or Quest (Labcorp or Quest will submit the claim for your blood work to your health insurance. If you do not have health insurance, there will be an out-of-pocket cost for blood work).

        - A provider review of your lab results.

        - A provider telemedicine physical evaluation (video call evaluation). This provides you with the convenience of speaking to your provider in the comfort and privacy of your own home via your computer/laptop with camera or cellphone with camera (like a zoom call).

        - ALL of your follow up yearly physicals, follow-up provider consultations, and in-home blood draws.

SET-UP COST is only $75 and you will not have to pay another fee again!

If you do not have health insurance to cover the labs:

        A standard lab panel (without insurance) = $150 out-of-pocket.

Full comprehensive labs (without insurance) = $250.

Y can expect to have labs done 2-3 times per year.

Will I need to take an aromatase inhibitor/estrogen blocker?

This is a heavily debated topic in the hormone optimization industry. Aromatase inhibitors are used to block the conversion of testosterone into estradiol (estrogen).

Our main objective is to optimize hormone levels to when we were in our early 20s.

There are studies that show higher levels of estradiol in men can be beneficial as estradiol is essential to regulating libido and erectile function. Many people are ASSOCIATING high levels of estradiol with harm and have confirmation bias because the misinformation has been taught and spread for so long. Aromatase is present in the body in many other places other than the tissues, like your bones, eyes, and other places in much lower amounts. When you inhibit the aromatization process, you are also inhibiting it EVERYWHERE, even in places where it is not as abundant. This could be problematic in the long run.

The science and studies do not support that high estradiol needs to be controlled for nonobese/insulin resistant people. High estradiol levels can be harmful to people who have insulin resistance and/or are obese. This is why it is extremely important to maintain a healthy lifestyle including exercise, healthy and balanced nutrition, and therefore reducing excessive body fat.

ANSWER: NO, you will NOT HAVE TO take an aromatase inhibitor as we do not feel, based on the current science and literature, that the benefits outweigh the risks associated with inhibiting the aromatization process.

Does testosterone therapy cause prostate cancer?

A question that comes up many times is whether testosterone therapy can cause prostate cancer.

The American Urological Association has determined through a meta analysis in 2015 that not only does testosterone replacement NOT cause prostate cancer, but may actually help protect against it.

There was no relationship found between testosterone levels and a risk of prostate cancer.

Do you offer other methods of administering testosterone like pellets and creams/gels?

No. We highly recommend using injections because it provides the patient more control over there dosing and frequency (unlike pellets, which also makes keeping your levels stable and optimized nearly impossible due to the rise and drop as you go through the pellet process) without the potential of transferring the hormone to others, especially children.

What is included in the testosterone therapy?

EVERYTHING is included! The recurring fee includes ALL the medications (based on medical necessity), ALL of your follow-up telemedicine visits, unlimited support, and ALL supplies and shipping.

        - If you do not have insurance to process the labs/blood work through, there would be an out-of-pocket cost to process the labs:

-Full comprehensive panel - Includes lipid, thyroid, and more: $250

        -Standard panel: $150.

There are never any additional fees or hidden costs.

Your patient care coordinator or provider can give you more information during your consultation.

What pharmacy does the medication ship from?

We partner with several pharmacies within the US. The pharmacy that will be used for your order will be determined by the program and products you ultimately decide to go with.
